Sarah Elizabeth nee (Ransom) Wilkerson was born on January 17, 1939 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clara Louise Ransom. On Thursday, November 7, 2024 the Lord called Sarah home to say to her “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Sarah graduated from Taft High School in 1957. She attended Central State University for two years until her mother became ill. She worked at Bethesda Oak Hospital in Food Service. She also was employed at Keebler Cookie Company until 2000 as an administrator. After retiring from Keebler she worked part time at TJ Maxx. Sarah loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young girl. She attended St. Paul AME Church with her mother, Clara Ransom. She met the love of her life, James Wilkerson and joined St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Sarah married James Wilkerson in June of 1970 and from that union Christopher James Wilkerson was born. Sarah was filled with the Holy Spirit at St. Mark’s Catholic Church under the leadership of Father Dennis Kinderman, best Priest ever. While at St. Mark’s Catholic Church she was over the Children’s Ministry and ministered through liturgical dance under Mrs. Linda Robinson. She later became a committed member of Tryed Stone Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Dr. Anderson and Lady Tommie Culbreath; she learned how to operate in the overflow of the Holy Spirit. While at Tryed Stone Sarah ministered in song with the 8 am Choir under Mrs. Pat Mitchell and she was a praise dancer. Sarah loved God with all of her mind and soul and served Him until her untimely death. Sarah had an infectious laugh. She enjoyed family gathering, going to the movies, eating out at restaurants, and fellowshipping with fellow saints. God and family were foundational in Sarah’s life. She gave her best to Jesus, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilkerson; mother, Clara Louise Ransom; brother, Ronald Ransom; grandson, Rashad T. Barnes; cousins, Bob Bonds, Sea Bell Bonds, and Helen Chisholm and son in law, Pastor Robert Taul.
She leaves to the following to cherish her memory, a daughter, Paula (Robert) Washington Taul; two sons, Michael (Georgette) Washington, and Christopher James (Nathalie) Wilkerson. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, six great granddaughters, and two great great grandsons and a host of other relatives and friends.
