He was Charles Louis Colter “Chucky” was born on February
5,1960 to the parents of Constance and David E. Colter
Sr.. Chucky transitioned from this life on July 24th, 2023
at Victory Ridge, Hospice of Dayton V.A Medical Center.
While attending Dunbar High, Chucky decided he wanted
to join and serve in the United States Army in 1977. He
was honorably discharged, and later received his GED.
Chucky had phenomenal work ethics. He worked twenty
seven plus years in the Construction trade, making him
an Invested member of the local labor Union 1410. He
managed a Full Service Detail Car wash, where he was
the most sought after car detailer at that location. His position
gave him the opportunity to employ his grandson,
Toby with his first job. He took great pride in teaching his
grandson his skills as they worked side by side. He later
began working and volunteering at the V.A.
Chucky had a great love for motorcycles. He became a
member of The Posse MC Club in the early 90’s. His
brother, Butch joined briefly after becoming the President
while Chucky served as the Secretary and treasurer. He
loved Jazz music and watching his favorite western , Gunsmoke
with his best friend and brother, Butch.
preceded in death by his parents, Constance
Taylor and David E. Colter Sr; step-father, Robert Taylor;
his grand parents, Julia Meade and Leo Price; uncle,
Bobby Meade; his brother’s, Darren and Kevin Colter;
nephew’s, Don’ta, David, Eric Colter Jr. and Marcus Wimberly.
Chucky leaves to cherish his memory; special friend,
Crystal Lane; two daughters, T.Lavell Colter and
Lashawnda Cherelle, four sons, Martinez (Tyona) Bean,
Anthony Channels, Reico Colter, Jason (Keli) Holcombe;
two brothers, Davis Colier and Pastor Eric Colter eighteen
grandchildren; Toby Brown, Te’Aja (Tony) Brown-
Bishop, Martinez and Martina Carroll, Emanee Dunson,
My’Shawn Cribbs, Jayana Moody, Riyale, Amiere, and
Reico Colter Jr, A’mya Twitty, Tamarea Hammett, Kingston,
Amarionna, Tyron, JonTonio, Armani and Martinez
Bean Jr; eight great grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
